Curriculum:

We do offer a very comprehensive curriculum customized according to the proficiency levels of the students.
ShruthiLayam believes in bringing out the best in its students

  • Carnatic Vocal and Violin lessons

    Beginning from age 4 onwards we do have carnatic vocal and violin sessions available at flexible slots for all the students.

    The class usually consists of 1 hour sessions with focus on Slokams, theory and of course Music.

    All the students tend to participate in atleast 2 recitals in a year along with a detailed Annual exam and certificates and medals following the same.

  • Bharatnatyam lessons

    Bharatanatyam is the manifestation of the South Indian idea of the celebration of the eternal universe through the celebration of the beauty of the material body. In Hindu mythology the whole universe is the dance of the Supreme Dancer, Nataraja, a name for Lord Shiva, the Hindu ascetic yogi and divine purveyor of destruction of evil.

     

    The Dance lessons are taught the vazhoor style by Sunanda and a senior student of the school Ashraya Ananthanarayanan for all students starting from age 4 onwards.

    The Dance students also participate in 2 recitals in a year with an Annual exam to conclude the school year followed by the certificate and medal ceremony on the Annual day.

     

  • Yoga lessons

    In today's world there is no time to sit and relax. But here at Shruthilayam we stress on pranayama, meditation and simple yoga techniques paving way to a healthy life style.

     

    The classes are usually one hour group sessions taught by the trained teacher of Maharishi University of Management.

Music is the universal language which establishes a common bond among all subjects and people. It evokes passionate emotions in the heart and rekindles vibrant memories of the mind. With the enormous impact that music has on every aspect of our lives, it would make sense to fervently develop and advance our music programs. Instead, excuses are made and methods are devised to remove an essential portion of the human soul. Emphasizing and enhancing music education will expand the students' knowledge in a variety of subjects, improve their test scores, and release the human spirits.

Even very young children benefit from music Education. Researchers today at the University of California at Irvine have established the first cause and effect link between music making in three-year-olds and higher brain function. Children who study music benefit from enhanced spatial and enhanced reasoning skills, which means children who study music will perform better in other core subjects, such as math and science.
